At approximately 72 feet in diameter and roughly 10 feet high, Plumcake Mound is slightly smaller than its Loch Harray neighbor, Fresh Knowe.

Thought to date from between 2500 and 1500 B.C., when excavated it contained two cists that contained cremated remains.
