 The 11-1/2 foot tall Gun Rith Standing Stone is now set in concrete, as it toppled over some years back. A small wall supports the earth bank behind the stone. Although its purpose remains unknown, it is believed that the stone is connected to the nearby Merry Maidens Stone Circle, a large circle of 19 stones likely to have been used for religious rites.
It was re-erected in June of 2003 after it had fallen earlier that year.

Gun Rith Standing Stone is located just over the B3315 road from the Tregiffian Barrow and southwest of the Merry Maidens Stone Circle in the West Penwith area of Cornwall in southwest England.
