Saints and Stones: Moss Farm Road Kerbed Cairn (Machrie Moor 10)

Saints
Stones

This badly mutilated mound is a Bronze Age cairn with the remains of a conspicuous kerb, and, therefore, called a stone circle by some (and labeled as Machrie Moor 10 by others). It measures approximately 75 feet in diameter and has an average height of 2-1/2 feet. A modern fence and a farm track have cut through the north arc and a succession of stone robbing and dumping has disfigured the interior. The kerb consists of seven upright stones, ranging in height from 2-1/2 to 4+ feet, with at least five more large stones on the edge.

This site has been compared to the similar site at Auchagallon to the north in Arran.
