The Pipers Standing Stones near the Merry Maidens Stone Circle are the tallest standing stones in the West Penwith area. Both stones are composed of gray granite and are some 800 feet from the Merry Maidens.

The southwest stone, the first encountered across a field from the road is the smaller of the two at just under 14 feet tall, while its partner, in another field approximately 300 feet away to the northeast, is approximately 15-16 feet tall and is the tallest stone in the area.

Neither is visible from the stone circle. In contrast, the Gun Rith Standing Stone is plainly visible to the west of the Merry Maidens.

The Pipers Standing Stones near the Merry Maidens are located across the B3315 from the stone circle. While both very tall, they cannot be seen from the stone circle.
