The highest situated Orkney tomb, the Knowe of Yarso is a Neolithic stalled cairn about 50 feet long and 25 feet wide entered by a 13 foot long passage. The chamber, which my have originally been two-storied, is divided into four compartments by three pairs of upright slabs.

Excavated in 1934, the bones of at many adults, a large number of flint knives and scrapers, and the remains of a number of deer were found.
